All of the talented individuals who work with Tantrum Niche Records are independent artists, not signed or sponsored by any third-party companies or corporations.

Tantrum Niche Records was founded by John Maxfield in 2001. The first release by the label was John's debut album, "Beautiful Vs." Since then, the label has released albums by Geoff Koch, Brooke Lashley, Circa, and other artists.

Tantrum Niche Records provides low-cost audio recording and post production services at our studios in Saint Louis, Missouri. If you are interested in booking time at our studio, please contact us via email.

We work with several small local businesses and independent contractors to provide musicians with design services, web hosting, digital and physical distribution, duplication, concert and studio booking, event coordination, and album release planning. We also have recommendable agents, managers, attorneys, and literature to independent musicians who are interested in such things.

Transactions from this web site go directly to the artists responsible for the music that is purchased. Some artists donate portions of their sales to causes, such as 'Relief for Hati,' 'Autism Awareness' and 'VH1 Save The Music.'

Only a single fee of less than one dollar per transaction is deducted to maintain the hosting of this web site, and to pay our partners at PayPal for allowing us to accept credit and debit cards. We make every effort to maximize the profits paid to the artists, so that they can continue to make music on stage and in studio.

We help independent musicians by giving them the resources that they need to get their music created, exposed, and sold to their audiences fairly and inexpensively. We help creative professionals to find work with each other, and assist with the planning and management of their projects and release of their products.

Simply put, we do most of the things that major and independent record labels do, but we do it fairly, openly, and inexpensively.
